Rome Lab Had Major Economic Impact On The Area In 2016

The Air Force Research Lab at the Griffiss Park in Rome had a substantial economic impact on the Utica-Rome area and Central New York in 2016.

According to numbers released by the Air Force, the total economic impact on the five counties of Oneida, Herkimer, Madison, Onondaga and Oswego was $355 million this fiscal year.

That's a $42 million dollar increase (13.5 percent) over last year.

In 2016, the directorate received the most funding in the history of the lab, totaling over $1.1 billion.
