Rome Man Arrested After Breaking Into Local Residence

Rome, NY (WIBX) - According to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Unit, members of the Sheriff's Office Road Patrol Division responded to a burglary in progress complaint at the Delta Lake Inn on Fish Hatchery Road. in the City of Rome.

When deputies arrived on scene, they say 50-year old Richard Stropp IV of Rome was seen fleeing from the scene.

He was detained and further investigation revealed Stropp unlawfully entered a residence on Teugega Point Road and stole jewelry and other valuables.

Stropp was arrested for Burglary in the Second Degree and arraigned in the City of Rome Court.
