Floyd, NY (WIBX) - The Oneida County Sheriff's Office say a Rome man was arrested after leading a
deputy on a high-speed chase on Route 49.

Deputies say 31-year old Lynn Derrick was clocked going 85-miles an hour in a 65-mile
an hour zone near the Oriskany exit.

Derrick lead pollice on a chase that reached speeds of 82-miles an hour before crashing on
Route 49 in Floyd.

Authorities say He exited the vehicle and attempted to flee before being taken into custody.

Derrick was charged with DWI, DWAI/Drugs, criminal possession of a controlled substance
and two traffic violations.

Meanwhile, Derrick was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle by Utica Police.

Police says the vehicle Derrick was driving was registered to his girlfriend's mother and was taken
from Van Vorst Street in Utica without permission.
