Rome Man Arrested For Facebook Fraud

A Rome man has been arrested following a Facebook fraud investigation.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office says 28-year old Gerald Allen advertised five admission passes for sale at Enchanted Forest Water Safari on Rome Facebook Garage Sales under a false name.

They say Allen then met with the victim and accepted $100, telling the victim that the admission passes would be available at the water park, although they were not.

Allen is charged with petty larceny.

Anyone who has had a similar experience in recent months is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 765-2717.
