Rome Man Arrested for Sexual Abuse

The Oneida County Child Advocacy Center says a Rome man has been arrested for sexual abuse.

Investigators say 52-year old Brian Hickernell had sexual contact with a girl under the age of 17.

Hickernell is charged with forcible touching and endangering the welfare of a child.

The alleged incident took place about two weeks ago in the Village of Oriskany.

An order of protection was issued and the victim has been offered counseling services through the Child Advocacy Center.
