Utica, NY (WIBX) - A 33-year-old Rome man faces four felony charges in connection with a home invasion that took place in Utica in April.

Gerard Moerler is accused of breaking into a home on Kellogg Avenue on April 21, 2011.

The victim told police she awoke to find the man inside her home, demanding drugs. When she said she didn't have any drugs, Moerler allegedly began slashing her with a hunting knife.

The victim sustained cuts to her arms, but wasn't seriously hurt.

Moerler faces felony charges of burglary, assault, attempted robbery and criminal possession of a weapon.
