A Rome man has been arrested twice in the same day. According to Oneida County Sheriff Rob Maciol, the first incident occurred on Thursday at around 4 p.m.

37-year-old Michael Daiuto was released from Oneida County Jail and allegedly started a physical confrontation with an off duty corrections officer in the parking lot.

According Sheriff Maciol, Daiuto got into a verbal argument with and allegedly shoved and spit in the face of the Corrections Officer. He was arrested and released on his own recognizance.

The second incident occurred later that night after homeowners on Hill Street in Westmoreland called 911 for reports of someone damaging property. Reports indicate that Daiuto allegedly climbed on to the roof of the residence and then onto the roof of an RV.

While checking the surrounding area, deputies ultimately discovered Daiuto hiding in the back of a pickup. Daiuto was charged with two counts of Criminal Mischief.
