Rome Man Charged With Rape

Rome, NY (WIBX) - A Rome man has been arrested for allegedly engaging in sexual contact with a child under the age of 13.Investigators with the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center have charged 20-year old Joshua Moonen with one count of rape.

The incident happened in March in Rome.

Moonen was arraigned and sent to the County jail on $50,000 bail.

The investigation has been turned over to the District Attorney's Office for grand jury action.

The victim is being offered counseling through the Child Advocacy Center.
