A Rome man is charged with rape following an investigation by the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center.

According to a release from CAC, Jamez Williams, 21, is charged with rape in the first degree allegedly engaging in intercourse with a unidentified girl under the age of 13.

The alleged incident took place in the village of Camden this past spring, according to investigators.  Willams was arraigned in New York Mills Court and remanded to the Oneida Count Jail with bail set at $50,000.

Authorities say a 'stay away' order of protection has been issued on behalf of the victim, and she's been offered counseling services through the Child Advocacy Center.
