Rome, NY (WIBX) - A Rome man is being held at the Oneida County Correctional Facility, following an investigation by Rome Police into the promotion of child pornography.

Steven Garmany, 50, of Batavia Avenue, was arrested on January 27th after police seized cell phones, computers and storage devices at his home.

According to police, Garmany allegedly engaged in the promotion of child pornography.

He faces two felony counts of Promoting the Sexual Performance of a Child and more charges are pending based on the outcome of the investigation.

Garmany was arraigned in Rome City Court.

Rome Police were assisted by the Rome Police Forensic Unit, Oneida County Child Advocacy Center, Utica Police Department, State Police and the Bergen County, New Jersey Prosecutor
