A Rome man is facing charges for leading police on a chase. Deputies attempted to initiate a traffic stop on South James Street in the City of Rome. The vehicle was being driven by 38-year-old Shaundell Edwards, who fled the scene, leading deputies on a car chase through the city and into the town of Verona.

Officials finally released a spike strip to disable Edwards' vehicle. He was finally taken into custody, and charged with Unlawful fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle as well as numerous traffic citations. He was then turned over to Rome Police on an outstanding warrant.
