A Rome man has been indicted for unlawful possession of a firearm.

32-year old Michael Dyer was arraigned Friday in U.S. District Court in Syracuse.

The U.S. Attorney's Office says Dyer is being charged with being a felon in possession of a 12 gauge shotgun.

If convicted, Dyer faces up to tens years in prison and a fine of up $250,000.  A trail date has been set for September 26th.

The case is being investigated by the Oneida County Drug Enforcement Task Force and the ATF
