Rome Man Rear-Ends His Way Into DWI Charges

On the scene of an accident on Oriskany and Schuyler Streets a responding officer became concerned about the sobriety of one of the drivers involved.

46-Year-old Michael Barbato of Craighurst Drive in Rome allegedly rear-ended another car at approximately 1:40 this morning, January 1, 2014.  Utica Police say he had a blood alcohol concentration of point-18-percent.

Barbato was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, two counts of DWI, and following another vehicle too closely.
