Rome Police have a suspect in custody for a weekend murder.

46-Year old Christoper Werenski was arraigned in Rome City Court yesterday and is being held without bail at the Oneida County Jail.

Police arrived at the home of 45-year old Carrie Werenski, Christopher's estranged wife, at approximately 7:00pm on Saturday, July 26, 2014 after receiving reports of a stabbing. When they arrived they discovered Carrie Werenski dead, apparently of stab wounds.

Carrie Werenski's home was located at 321 East Bloomfield Street.

Authorities say more information about the case will be released later today.  In the meantime Werenski is facing a charge of second degree murder.

UPDATE 11:58- Police say they had responded to two domestic incident calls this month involving the Werenski's.

On July 7th, Christopher Werenski was charged with criminal contempt for violating a a court order of protection.
