Rome, NY (WIBX) - Two members of the Rome Police Department will be honored tonight at the annual Central New York Chiefs of Police Association Awards Ceremony in Syracuse.

Officer Donald Moore will receive an Heroic Action Award.

Moore was off-duty at the AT & T store in New York Mills last May when a disgruntled customer shot a store employee in the abdomen.

Moore shot and killed Abraham Dickan, saving several lives.

It was later learned Dickan had a "hit list" and intended to kill six people that day.

Detective Jeff Race wil get a Law Enforcement Commendation for his work on a homicide investigation last May.
