Rome Police are releasing new information on a weekend homicide.

Detective Jeffery Lanigan says 35-year old Robert Coffin allegedly shot Thomas Shepherd twice in the head outside Sammy G's Bar early Saturday morning.

Lanigan says the shooting followed two separate altercations in the parking lot of the bar. He says the first involved Coffin and a woman and the second was between Coffin and Shepherd.

Lanigan says Coffin fled the scene in a red 2010 Nissan Maxima.  He also says they have video surveillance of the incident.

Lanigan would not say if police believe Coffin may still be in the Rome-area.

A $6,500 reward is being offered for information that leads to Coffin's arrest.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts can call Rome Police or leave an anonymous tip on the Mohawk Valley Crime Stoppers website.
