The Rome Police Department will begin an enforcement campaign next week targeting those who are using a cell phone while driving.

The campaign will start November 16th and continue through November 23rd.

Police say it will be a zero tolerance campaign. They say any motorist observed using a cell phone while behind the wheel will be ticketed.

Officials say motorists should become familiar with the New York State Vehicle and Traffic law which covers the use of cell phone / mobile telephone devices.
