The annual Rome Run & Indoor Walk took place over the weekend and was another huge success. Kicking off Heart Week, this event raised $19,000.

A total of over 200 people participated in the event at Rome Free Academy. The Run & Walk was sponsored by Rome Memorial Hospital. The event offered different walk courses to attract different types of walkers; for the person that would like a leisurely walk, there was an indoor oval track and for the more avid walker there were challenging courses around the school. For runners, the event offered an outdoor 5K run.

Another highlight of the evening was a presentation by the family of one of this years Red Cap Ambassadors. Kaydence Lupinski's story was shared with the crowd. She was born with a congenital heart defect and had surgery at six months old. She is now a happy, energetic toddler.

Don't miss all the events this weekend and don't forget to make your donation during our Annual Slocum-Dickson Heart Radiothon.
