City of Rome, NY (WIBX) - More than $54,000 of counterfeit goods were seized by state police from a City of Rome store. Officials arrested the owner of Design Sellar on W. Dominick Street, Ronald Yacobucci, charging him with:

  • 1 count of Trademark Counterfeiting in the Second Degree, a Class E Felony
  • 3 counts of Trademark Counterfeiting in the Third Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor

The 60-year-old man is accused of selling the counterfeit items out of his store, after a 4-month long investigation conducted by The New York State Police and Special Investigations Unit in Utica, uncovered the illegal activity. Yacobucci was taken to jail and released on an appearance ticket to appear in the City of Rome Court on June 1, 2012.

Other agencies involved in the investigation include, the Rome Police Departments Special Investigations Unit, the Oneida County Sheriff's Office, and the Oneida County District Attorney's Office.
