A Rome teenager has been arrested and charged with making a terroristic threat.

Rome Police say the 17 year old student at Rome Free Academy is accused of posting the threat on social media and sending it on to several other RFA students, warning them not to attend school today.

Police are not releasing the name of the student, as he may be eligible for youthful offender status.  The nature of the threat is not being released.

The school is operating on its regular schedule and police say no students or faculty members are at risk due to the threat.
