New York State Police have arrested a Rome woman on charges of endangering the welfare of a child and criminal possession of marijuana.

Police say they received a tip that Leah Internicola, 30, had allegedly left three children alone in her home for nearly 19 hours.

When troopers arrived and eventually forced their way into the home, they found the children, ages 3, 2 and 1 in what they described as "deplorable conditions."

Internicola was arrested and sent to the Oneida County Jail on $500 bail on three counts of endangering the welfare of a child and one count of 5th degree criminal possession of marijuana.

Oneida County Child Protective Services assisted State Police at the scene.
