Rome Woman Charged In Hit And Run

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office has charged a Rome woman in connection with a hit and run accident on Oswego Road in Blossvale.

They say 22-year old Caitlin Lyke was allegedly driving a vehicle that hit a 9-year old boy on Saturday afternoon.

Deputies say the boy had been riding his bicycle with friends and turned unexpectedly in front of Lyke's vehicle.

Lyke was issued a summons for leaving the scene of a personal injury accident.

The child who was struck has been released from the hospital and is doing well.
