Rome's John F Kennedy Arena will open for the season this weekend.

They'll be hosting a sold out American Hockey League exhibition game between the Utica Comets and Adirondack Phantoms on Sunday afternoon.

Patrons will notice several new and improved features at the arena this year, including a hockey pro shop located inside the rink area of the building.

To usher in the new season, the city is offering free public skating tomorrow from 1:00 to 2:45 and again from 6:30 to 8:00.

The arena scheduled is available at the City of Rome website.
