A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Friday at the new Runnings store on Rome-Taberg Road in Rome.

Rome Mayor Joe Fusco says the store,  which sells everything from sporting goods to power equipment, is a great addition to the city.

The store is creating about 80 jobs in the retail store along with another 20 to 25 jobs in the distribution center across the street in the former Rite-Aid building.
