Saratoga Springs Named One Of America’s Best Cities With Plenty To Do This Winter

Just a short drive from the Utica-Rome area sits a small city that many call the best America has to offer.

OnlyInYourState.com calls Saratoga Springs one of the best cities in the country based on research done by Wallethub that shows the city of 26,000 residents scored exceptionally high when it comes to affordability, economic health, education, safety, and quality of life.

From entertainment to history to dining and nightlife, Saratoga Springs just might have it all.

The beautiful Saratoga Spa State Park is a great place to start. With 18 natural springs you will quickly discover where the area got its name.

Don't forget to make a stop at the Geyser Island Spouter - a geyser that erupts through a huge boulder!

Of course no visit to Saratoga Springs is complete without seeing a concert at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center or SPAC for short. The beautiful natural amphitheater has hosted some of the biggest names in music, and is a favorite for many touring bands.

In fact, many Central New Yorkers have had at least one concert experience at SPAC.

The nearby Saratoga Race Course is one of the oldest places in the country to see a horse race. The track opened in 1863 and still hosts a jam-packed race season every year. If you like a little action, stop into the Casino and Raceway and place a bet or try your luck on the slot machines.

This event begins with the lighting of the city's Christmas tree and see Santa and Mrs. Claus on a horse-drawn sleigh while you take in all the Victorian-era costumes, venues and even real reindeer.
