LAKE GEORGE, N.Y. (AP) — A state-maintained parkway with scenic overlooks near Lake George will remain open for leaf peeping through Nov. 6.

The state Department of Environmental Conservation says it will waive fees to use the 5-and-half-mile Prospect Mountain Veteran's Memorial Parkway on that final November weekend.

The parkway near the Village of Lake George has three overlooks and a shuttle runs from the parking lot at the end of the parkway to the 2,030-foot summit of Prospect Mountain.

Cars are charged $10 to use the parkway near the southern edge of the Adirondacks. The fee is $4 for motorcycles.
