Former Trenton Town Supervisor Mark Scheidelman made a brief appearance in Oneida County Court on Friday

Scheidelman, who was found guilty of sexually abusing a 10-year old boy in 2013, will get a new trial after an Appellate Court ruled he didn't get a fair trial because of prosecutorial misconduct.

Scheidelman's Attorney Frank Policelli says he hopes to get a fair and opened minded jury to hear the case.

Judge Michael Dwyer will hear pre-trial motions next month with a new trial taking place in April.

Scheidelman was released on his own recognizance. He would not comment to reporters.
