No serious accidents or widespread power issues are reported in spite of the latest nor’easter staying in the Twin Tiers and Central New York much longer than had originally been anticipated.

Instead of a couple of inches of snow for the Greater Binghamton area, weather spotters reported half foot totals or more around the region March 14 into early March 15.

Area emergency services authorities said that while, main roads were fairly clear, the roads in the higher elevations and outlying areas were still snow covered early with some with ice underneath the snow.

Several school districts in the region opted to delay opening to give crews some more time to get the roads clear.
