US Senator Charles Schumer visited Griffiss International Airport in Rome today to announce a push for more federal funding for UAS development in Rome.

Schumer says through the 2019 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development and Related Agencies Appropriations bill, a new funding stream of upto to $6 million dollars could be available for unmanned aircraft systems test sites across the country.

Schumer is calling for passage of the bill, and for the FAA to direct funding to the Griffiss location.
