Schumer Says NRA Is Turning People Off

Washington, DC (WIBX) – Senator Charles Schumer says the National Rifle Association is actually helping the cause for new gun control legislation.
The New York Democrat said on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that the NRA’s extreme position is so against what most Americans want that it’s “turning people off.”
Schumer said that NRA leader Wayne LaPierre blames everything but guns and that trying to prevent schools shootings without talking about guns is like, quote, “trying to prevent lung cancer without talking about cigarettes.”
