Schumer Wants All Vets To Be Reimbursed For Service Dogs

New York, NY (WIBX) - Under a new law that goes into effect next month, only veterans with physical disabilities can be reimbursed for service dogs.

New York Senator Charles Schumer is calling on the Department of Veterans Affairs to make sure vets with PTSD and other mental disorders can also receive VA benefits for service dogs.

Schumer says research shows that trained service dogs are effective in helping veterans with mental and emotional disorders.
