ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) — The search continues in Rochester for a suspect in the wounding of a police officer over the weekend.

Rochester police say 36-year-old Jeremy Nash was shot near his face around at 10:45 p.m. Saturday on North Street. Officials say he was among the officers responding to an unrelated call in the city's northeast section.

Police Chief Michael Ciminelli said on Sunday that Nash's injuries were "serious" but not life-threatening. Nash was listed in stable condition at Rochester General Hospital.

Police haven't released additional details of the shooting.

No known arrests have been announced.
