A second horse in Oneida County has died from Eastern Equine Encephalitis.

The Oneida County Health Department says the one and-a-half year old horse in the Town of Vienna died of the virus last weekend.

Positive EEE results were reported by the Wadsworth Lab in Albany this week.

A horse in the Town of Trenton that was euthanized last week also tested positive for the mosquito-borne virus.

Madison County officials have also reported a horse death from EEE.
