A Utica man has pleaded guilty in connection with an armed robbery that happened at a barbershop on Seymour Avenue and James Street on July 1st.

Utica Police say 26-year old Michael Lee pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery and is expected to be sentenced to 15 years in state prison.

Lee was prosecuted under the operation GIVE or Gun Involved Violence Elimination Initiative.

A second suspect in the robbery, Taquan Jones, pleaded guilty on July 2nd and will be sentenced in November.

Police say the men threatened to shoot the owner of the barbershop and another man before leaving with money.
