Sen. Schumer Calling For Safe Drinking Water In Lenox
Lenox, NY (WIBX) – Nearly three hundred homes in Lenox are without clean water on a daily basis.
Today Senator Charles Schumer is trying to change that. He will be in Lenox this afternoon to launch efforts to push the USDA to provide funding necessary to build a ten mile-long water line in Madison County.
Bacteria levels in wells have rendered water unfit for consumption, forcing residents to buy bottled water for drinking and boil water for other uses.
