The state Senate will vote today to approve 14 regulatory reform bills.

The initiative is highlighted by a measure sponsored by Senator Joseph Griffo.

It would create a task force that would have the power to review state rules, regulations and public authorities and make recommendations for the repeal of ones that are determined unnecessary.

Griffo says the package of bills is designed to promote a more competitive environment for businesses so they can create new jobs.
