SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — Prosecutors say sentencing has been delayed for a central New York man who admitted he killed his toddler daughter with a wooden baseball bat, burned her body and dumped her remains in a creek.

Ryan Lawrence of Syracuse pleaded guilty to murdering Maddox Lawrence in a plea deal with Onondaga (ahn-uhn-DAH'-gah) County prosecutors last month.

Prosecutors say his sentencing has been rescheduled for Nov. 16 to help the family of the 21-month-old girl, who Lawrence admitted beating to death near Syracuse in February. His sentencing had been planned for a week earlier.

Authorities say Lawrence burned the girl's body in a fire pit, tied her remains to a cinder block and dumped them in a Syracuse creek.

Lawrence will be sentenced next month to 25 years to life in prison.
