Oneida County is celebrating the contributions of Sheriff Rob Maciol and the entire Oneida County Sheriff's Office this week.

County Executive Anthony Picente has announced that this will be Sheriff's week to recognize the work done by the Sheriff's Office in county government and the statewide criminal justice system.

The responsibilities of the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office includes criminal law enforcement, traffic patrol, marine patrol, snowmobile patrol, emergency rescue operations, dive team, homeland security programs, SWAT operations, civil emergency response, jail operations, correctional alternative management, courtroom security, school resource officers, school security, and civil litigation process.

Sheriff's week is also being acknowledged throughout New York State, and Governor Cuomo has also issued a proclamation recognizing the special week.
