Car Pedestrian Accident in Vienna Under Investigation

Authorities say they are still investigating a serious accident involving a car and pedestrian over the weekend.

According to a written release police say they responded to a call about an accident that had occurred at approximately 2:30am on Sunday, September 13, 2015.

New York State Police say 41-year-old Charlene E. Sanborn was walking on State Route 13 in Vienna when she walked onto the roadway and into the path of a 25-year-old driver from Camden, New York. The vehicle operator, who was driving a 2005 Dodge Stratus, is reported to have been unable to avoid Sanborn.

She was brought to Upstate University Medical Center and was last listed in critical condition. The operator of the vehicle was not ticketed.
