Seven New York-based productions earned 16 nominations for the Golden Globe Awards today.

The Governor's Office says the productions generated more than $224 million dollars in spending and created about 13,300 jobs across the state.

All of the nominated productions participated in the New York State Film Tax Credit Program. The program, launched in 2004, has contributed billion of dollars to the Empire State.

“New York is home to some of the most iconic film locations anywhere in the world and these Golden Globe nominations are further proof that our entertainment industry is thriving, creating tens of thousands of jobs and injecting billions of dollars into the state’s economy in the process,” Governor Andrew Cuomo said. “I congratulate all the New York-based productions who were nominated for an award, and I encourage future filmmakers to build on the industry’s success and continue bringing jobs and investment to this state.”
