Utica, NY (WIBX) - Several people were taken into police custody on Varrick Street around 1:30 this morning. Utica police say they arrested two men after intervening to stop them from arguing in the area of the Saranac after party. However, immediately following the first incident, police say another suspect began to instigate a fight with several people gathered at the first confrontation.

The suspect, 22-year-old Jason Perry, was subsequently arrested after police accused him of taking a combative stance against the officers. Perry is charged with Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest. The other two suspects are also charged with Disorderly Conduct, but were released on appearance tickets.
