Oneonta, NY (WIBX) - State Senator James Seward took the oath of office for another term at the Foothills Performing Arts Center in Oneonta on Tuesday.

Following the swearing-in ceremony, Seward addressed well-wishers and supporters and vowed to continue to tackle the challenges facing New York State.

The Republican said New York is moving in the right direction and we need to capitalize on the momentum and take additional steps to continue moving our state forward.

Seward was first elected to the state Senate in 1986.

He will be serving his 14th term.
