Sgt. Elisha Parker Memorial Highway Dedicated In Camden
A portion of Route 13 in Camden is now known as the Sgt. Elisha R. Parker Veterans Memorial Highway.
A ceremony was held this morning with the installation of two signs on Route 13 noting the ceremonial designation.
Parker was a 21-year old combat engineer who was killed in Iraq in 2006.
He was a 2002 graduate of Camden Central School.
The road was designated by Governor Cuomo after legislation was introduced by Senator Joseph Griffo at the request of the Village of Camden.
