Jon will immediately be engaged in an efficiency and needs analysis in light of significant budget changes and retirements in key command level positions." According to the release, Owens is a 1984 Clinton High School graduate who holds numerous certifications. His salary will be $53,581.

Another leadership position goes to Gabrielle O. Liddy who will operate as the Chief Deputy of Corrections in Maciol's administration. Maciol said, "Chief Liddy will command the largest division within the Sheriff's Office." Liddy currently serves as Captain in the Corrections Division of the Oneida County Sheriff's Office, a position she's held since 1990. She rose through the ranks from Deputy, Sergeant, Lieutenant to her current position as Captain. She holds a Master's degree in Criminal Justive Administration from Keuka College, a Bachelor's in Public Administration from Empire State College and an Associate's in Criminal Justice from Mohawk Valley Community College. Chief Liddy is also an adjunct professor at Keuka College. Her salary will be $53,581.

The final announcement is for the Secretary to the Sheriff, which will be taken up by Elizabeth A. Gustafson. Gustafson is coming from Congressman Michael Arcuri's Office where she currently serves as Staff Assistant. Gustafson holds a Master's from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Bachelors in Political Science from Union College. Maciol said, "Liz comes to my team with a wealth of educational and practical experiences here in the United States and abroad. She will serve as my chief administrative team member, responsible for leading all of the administrative personnel at the Sheriff's Office." Gustafson's salary will be $24,711.

Maciol said, "As with my Undersheriff, each of these leaders shares the same vision as I do; bringing a new generation of law enforecement to Oneida County. Each brings a unique skill set and combination of education and experience that will provide the core of my senior management team; the group responsible for framing, filling in, and implementing my vision for the Sheriff's Office." The senior management staff positions in the new administration of the Oneida County Sheriff's Office starts on January 1, 2011.

The swearing in ceremony will take place on Thursday December 30, 2010 at 4:30PM in the Ceremonial Court Room in the Oneida County Court House in Utica. Maciol will be sworn in by Judge Michael Dwyer. After, Sheriff Maciol will swear in his Undersheriff, Robert Swenszkowsk and two Chiefs, Jonathan G. Owens and Gabrielle O. Liddy.
