Turning Stone Boxing Re-Cap

The stars just seem to keep getting better and better for the Turning Stone Casino and for boxing fans in the area, as Floyd Mayweather Jr made his appearance to our area.  Turning Stone Casino hosted another boxing event this past Friday that was featured on ShoBox The New Generation and promoted by Mayweather Promotions, which is led by undefeated superstar Floyd Mayweather Jr.

In the first fight of the evening, a Super Bantamweight bout, John Franklin (6-0, 3 KO’s) dominated Jesus Bayron (5-9, 4 KO’s) by knocking him down twice during the fight to improve to 7-0.  The second fight featured two welterweights as Ladarius Miller, who was making his professional debut against Douglas Rosales (0-2, 0 KO’s) in a 4 round bout.  Miller also dominated this fight landing punches at will and scoring a unanimous decision to earn the victory.

The third fight of the evening featured two cruiserweights as Omutunde Tabiti (4-0, 4 KO’s) fought Dorian Hatcher and this fight didn’t last long.  Tabiti knocked down Hatcher twice in the opening round and the fight was stopped after the second knock down, and improved to 5-0 with 5 KO’s to start his career.  In the first of four Super Middleweight fights of the night, Ronald Gavril (7-0, 5 Ko’s) took on Cameron Allen (5-14, 3 KO’s).  Gavril landed numerous body shots during the first three rounds, knocking Allen down twice, with the last knock down being a TKO.  Gavril improved to 8-0, with 6 KO’s to start his career.

In the second Super Middleweight fight of the night, Luis Arias (8-0, 4 KO’s) fought against Dashon Johnson (15-14-3, 5 KO’s).  Dashon Johnson seemed to press the action and landed the cleaner, more powerful punches which cause an uproar in the crowd as Luis Arias was declared the winner, improving to 9-0 with 4 KO’s.

The first of ShoBox’s televised fights featured two middleweights, as christopher pearson (13-0, 10 KO’s) squared up against lanardo tyner (31-8-2, 20 KO’s).  This fight started out back and forth until Tyner landed a fury of punches towards the end of the sixth round knocking pearson down, which pearson was able to come up from.  However Pearson was able to recover and land some clean punches in the final rounds which got him the split decision vistory improving his record to 14-0 with 10 KO’s.

The Co-main event featured a super middleweight bout between badou jack from Sweden(16-0-1, 11 KO’s) and derek edwards (26-3-1, 13 KO’s).  Edwards stunnede the crowd, knocking Jack down twice within the first minute of the first round.  Jack was unable to recover from the second knockdown and Edwards is victorious by TKO, improving his record to 27-3-1 with 14 KO’s.  Edwards corner playfully teased Mayweather calling him out saying they wanted him next.

The Main Event of the evening featured a super middleweight bout between vladine Biosse (15-2-2, 7 ko’s) and J’Leon Love (16-0, 9ko’s).  The Third round was a bad round for biosse’s face as love battered it, causing swelling and bleeding.  Love then preceded to dominate the remainder of the fight and finally was able to put biosse away in the 10th round after the ref stopped the fight when biosse was unable to defend the barrage of punches love was throwing.  with the win, love improved his undefeated record to 17-0 with 10 KO’s.

Another knock-out for Turning stone casino and boxing fans as the boxing stars list just keeps getting bigger and bigger.
