LERAY, N.Y. (AP) — State police say they're investigating a drive-by shooting that caused property damage at an apartment complex near Fort Drum in northern New York.

Troopers say they responded around 5:30 p.m. Sunday to a report of shots fired at the Eagle Ridge Apartment complex in the Jefferson County town of LeRay, near the western section of the home of the Army's 10th Mountain Division.

Police say someone in a moving car fired at two parked, unoccupied vehicles in front of a residence. Troopers say the vehicles and two apartments were hit by bullets.

No one was injured.

Troopers say the shooting wasn't a random act of violence and that the vehicles were targeted for a reason they haven't determined yet.

Investigators from Fort Drum assisted at the scene.
