According to the Utica Police Department, several shots were fired at around 11 p.m. last night on the 1500 block of Elm Street.

UPD says as many as six shots were reported.

Several of the rounds fired hit an apartment where at least one bullet passed through a living room wall, went through the bathroom and into the kitchen of an apartment where a woman and two children live.

Other rounds were found in a different apartment wall and ceiling. Police say they found as many as five spent shell casings.

After canvassing the neighborhood Utica Police are asking for the public's help identifying a suspect.
