A soldier who left his unit in Afghanistan and was allegedly taken as a hostage by militants may now be facing desertion charges.

Army Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl was rescued under a controversial exchange for prisoners orchestrated by the White House.

Bergdahl, who was released by the Taliban in May 2014, came under verbal fire after several members of his unit criticized him for leaving his post in 2009.  Several soldiers are believed to have died searching for Bergdahl, although the exact circumstances surrounding rescue attempts have been debated.

Do you believe that Bergdahl should face desertion charges for leaving his post in 2009?
