Hip hop stars Beyonce and Jay-Z travelled to Havana, Cuba, against official Treasury Department regulations.

The New York Times is reporting that two Republican lawmakers, Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and Mario Diaz-Balart, both representing districts in Florida, have written to the Treasury Department asking officials to investigate the trip.

Americans are not authorized to travel to Cuba "unless authorized by a general or specific license."  Penalties for violating the travel ban can include fines and jail time.
