Should college athletes profit from merchandising or does that take away from the game?

The NCAA is in court defending the lack of compensation for athletes whose likenesses, names, and images are used - especially in marketing.  Some point to the potential for abuse if college players are treated like professional players, with endorsement deals and the like.  Others say that students should be able to profit from their marketability.
